Sneaker Impact takes recycled sneakers and creates microeconomies, but what happens when those sneakers are too worn and damaged? Initially we utilized a Curb to Grid program, but lately we’ve decided to take on the expense and research grinding sneakers which have reached their end of life. Our goal is to begin seperating the materials and making them available to create new products. This research is taking place with the partnership of TOMRA and has required Sneaker Impact to learn about how the grinding and refinement process of various materials happens.
